Our Studio

Shop Address

We have one studio and we’re located at 140 Regent Street, Redfern NSW 2016.

Opening Hours

We don’t have set opening hours, as our class schedule changes each week.
If you’d like to visit the studio outside of a class, please contact us first to arrange a time.

When can I collect my project?

Your project will be ready for collection from the day after your class. You can pop by during any of our designated pickup windows, which you can view here:
👉 Click here to see pickup times

There’s no need to let us know you’re coming – just drop in during the hours listed in the link. Please note we’re closed outside of those times.

We kindly ask that all items are collected within 30 days as our storage space is limited. If you need longer, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to extend your pickup window.

Uncollected projects may be donated after 30 days if no extension is arranged.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, no. There’s a small step into the studio and a larger step into the courtyard where the bathroom is located. The bathroom itself is quite narrow and not suitable for wheelchair access. If you’d like to chat through accessibility needs, feel free to get in touch.

Will my clothes get messy? Should I wear anything specific?

Some classes (especially paint-based ones!) can get a little messy, so we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a splash on. We provide aprons where needed.

Some workshops (like soap making or silversmithing) have specific clothing requirements – please check your class listing for details. This info is also included in your confirmation email.

Is the studio air-conditioned or heated?

Yes – our space is fully air-conditioned and heated. You’re welcome to let us know if the temperature feels off during your class – we’re happy to adjust it for your comfort, just ask your friendly teacher.

Do you have a bathroom on site?

Yes – there’s a bathroom on site for all guests to use during class.

Directions

Parking

Monday to Friday (Daytime):
We recommend parking on the lower half of Cope Street (before the zebra crossing). There are usually unrestricted spots, but you may need to circle around a few times, so allow a little extra time.

Monday to Friday (After 6pm):
Parking is unrestricted on Regent Street (outside the venue) from 6pm onwards – on both sides of the road.

Saturday (Morning classes):

  • Try the lower half of Cope Street (before the zebra crossing) – both sides are unrestricted.

  • After the zebra crossing, only the right-hand side (rear to curb) is unrestricted.

Saturday (Afternoon classes):

  • Regent Street (outside the venue) becomes unrestricted after 12:30pm.

  • Rear to curb parking on Cope Street (right-hand side after the zebra crossing) is also unrestricted.

Sunday:
Parking is unrestricted all day on Regent Street, on both sides of the road.

This information is provided as a guide only. Please double-check signage before leaving your car, as parking rules may change without notice and are the responsibility of the driver.

Is there public transport nearby?

Yes – we’re a short walk from both Redfern Station and the new Waterloo Metro. The studio is located roughly halfway between the two, about a 5-minute walk in either direction. Several buses also stop along Regent Street.

We recommend checking Google Maps for the best route from your location.

Bookings & Policies

Can I attend alone?

Absolutely! Many of our guests come solo and have a fantastic time. Our teachers always aim to seat solo participants together to help you feel comfortable and connected.

What’s the minimum age of participants?

All of our public group classes are for adults aged 18+ unless otherwise stated.

Do you offer kids classes?

We occasionally run school holiday programs or teen workshops, but the majority of our classes are designed for adults.

We do offer private kids’ and teen birthday parties and 1:1 sewing lessons – get in touch if you’re interested.

Can I bring a friend just to watch?

No – all attendees must have a paid ticket. Our classes are designed for full participation, and space is limited.
The only exception is for NDIS participants attending with a support worker. If this applies to you, please let us know in advance so we can prepare accordingly.

What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

All bookings are final and non-refundable.

We’re happy to reschedule your booking if it meets the conditions outlined on the class page – policies may vary depending on the type of workshop.

Please check the details listed on the class you’re booking to view the most up-to-date cancellation and rescheduling terms.

What if I’m running late to a class?

We totally get that things happen – just let us know as soon as you can. In most cases, we can accommodate late arrivals up to 20 minutes. However, for Sewing for Beginners, there is a strict 10-minute grace period. After this, late arrivals won’t be permitted to join the class, as it disrupts the flow and makes it hard to catch up.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

Yes – if you can’t make it, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. Just email us in advance so we can update the booking with their name. There’s no fee to transfer a booking.

Can I bring my own sewing machine to a class?

If you’re attending a group sewing class, you’ll need to use one of our studio machines – it keeps the class flowing smoothly and ensures everyone can follow along.

If you’d like to learn how to use your own machine, we recommend booking a private class. Already booked a group session? Get in touch and we can update your booking.
